Friluftsfrämjandet is a Swedish non-profit NGO, actively promoting an outdoor lifestyle since 1892. The purpose of Friluftsfrämjandet is to further public health and well-being in society, and they offer outdoor adventures for all ages. They hike, bike, walk, climb, paddle, ski and skate together, and train the best outdoor guides and instructors in Sweden.
As the Advocacy Manager at Friluftsfrämjandet, you lead the advocacy activities, by focusing on national decision-makers and priority groups within the public, as well as by supporting the organization's local departments with corresponding work at local and regional level. You set out a strategy and plan for how the work should be conducted and how the remaining organization can be involved.
You are responsible for making contact with the right people and choosing the right opportunity to act for your purpose. The methods used are mainly to respond to referrals, participate in relevant networks and forums, you write press releases, debate text and submissions and you keep direct dialogue with decision makers.
Your mission - increase public opinion and politicians' work for an accessible nature!
To fit in this role, we believe you have previous experience of working with advocacy. Maybe in an NGO or within a political party. You know how to play the game in the corridors of power and know the art of talking to politicians in a way that makes them listen. You are also good at translating strategic goals into concrete activities, have the ability to run projects, are good at writing (mainly in Swedish) and enjoy learning new things.
In order to thrive in the team, we believe that you are a person who enjoys being involved and participating in a growing organization. You like to work in a team with ambitious colleagues but are a person who value your spare time and have the ability to say no if you’re about to get too much tasks on your to do. We are not convinced that you have to love being in the nature but we think it can be good to at least feel committed to the issues you will be pushing.
If this sounds like a role for you, please show your interest, preferably in Swedish, right away! Maybe you will be the one fighting for our right to be rocked asleep on the night train to Åre next winter!
P.S TRIB is away during Christmas and back in the office on the 7th of January
